Nashik, Nov 8 – To address the volatility in onion prices stemming from a mismatch between demand and supply, officials from the central government’s Consumer Protection Department, Agriculture Department, and NHRDF Department visited the Pimpalgaon Market Committee on Tuesday.

The officials conducted an inspection of the areas where onions are cultivated in Nashik. Subsequently, they convened a meeting with the chairmen of Pimpalgaon and Lasalgaon market committees, along with traders and farmers, at the Pimpalgaon Baswant Agricultural Produce Market Committee hall.

During the meeting, farmers expressed their desire to be permitted to export onions and recommended that entities like NAFED and NCCF should directly purchase onions from market committees.
