New Delhi, Oct 27: Congress leader and former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on Thursday accused the BJP-led Central government of “continuously misusing” the probe agencies.
Pilot questioned the timing and intent of Enforcement Directorate (ED) action against the party’s state unit head Govind Singh Dotasra in Jaipur and Sikar and the summoning of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot in an alleged forex violation case.
At a press briefing held at AICC headquarters here, Pilot alleged that the way the house of Dotasara was raided by the Central probe agency shows that if BJP becomes politically weak then it will misuse the investigating agencies and create fear among the people.
Accusing BJP of “misusing” central probe agencies, Pilot said, “The summons given to Chief Minister’s son Vaibhav Gehlot in a 12-year old case make clear the intention of BJP. Everyone understands what could be the motive behind suddenly sending summons after the announcement of election dates for state assembly.”
Addressing the party workers and people of the state, Pilot said Congress leaders and workers do not need to fear anyone. “We will fight this assembly election with strength and win it,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge attacked BJP over ED raids and said as soon as elections come, the probe agencies-ED, CBI and IT- become the real ‘Panna Pramukh’ of BJP.
Kharge posted on X, “As soon as elections come, ED, CBI and IT, become the real ‘Panna Pramukh’ of BJP. Seeing its certain defeat in Rajasthan, BJP made its last move. After Chhattisgarh, ED has also started action against Congress leaders entering the assembly election campaign in Rajasthan.” “The dictatorship of the Modi government is fatal for democracy. We will continue to fight against the misuse of agencies, the public will give a befitting reply to the BJP,” he further wrote.
On the ED raid, Ashok Gehlot alleged that the saffron party does not want the women, farmers and poor in Rajasthan to get the benefit of the guarantees given by Congress.
Gehlot posted on X, “Now you can understand what I have been saying that ED’s Red Rose is happening inside Rajasthan because BJP does not want women, farmers and poor in Rajasthan should get the benefit of the guarantees given by Congress.”
