In a viral video that has captured widespread attention, a young girl cleverly turned the tables on a scammer posing as a friend of her father, even earning praise from the fraudster himself.

The incident, which occurred during a phone call, began with the scammer claiming to be a friend of the girl’s father. He told her that her father had asked him to transfer ₹12,000 to her UPI account. The scammer informed her that he had already transferred ₹10,000, and the girl received a suspicious SMS appearing to confirm the transaction.

However, the girl quickly recognized the message wasn’t from her bank but from a regular mobile number, which raised her suspicions. The scammer, trying to maintain the ruse, then claimed he had accidentally transferred ₹20,000 instead of ₹2,000 and asked her to return the extra ₹18,000.

Remaining calm and composed, the girl decided to turn the situation around. She edited the fake SMS to show that she had returned ₹18,000 and sent it back to the scammer. She then coolly told him, “Lijiye uncle, aapko bhi chala gaya ₹18,000.”

Caught in his own scam, the fraudster paused, impressed by her quick thinking, and responded, “Maan gaya main aapko, beta,” before abruptly ending the call.

The video has since gone viral, with viewers praising the girl’s presence of mind. Many hailed her for her sharp intellect, commenting on how quickly she recognized the scam. However, some raised doubts, questioning the authenticity of the call and speculating whether the conversation was pre-recorded.

Despite the skepticism, the incident has sparked a wider conversation about the rise of digital scams and the importance of staying vigilant in the face of increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts.
