Yoga guru Ramdev, the founder of Patanjali, has blocked US millionaire Bryan Johnson on X (formerly Twitter) after Johnson criticized his claims about anti-aging.

On Tuesday, Ramdev posted a video of himself running alongside a horse, claiming that certain Patanjali products can help with anti-aging, immunity, and strength. In response, Johnson pointed out that the air quality in Haridwar, where Ramdev lives, is so poor that it actually increases the risk of heart and lung diseases. This comment led Ramdev to block Johnson.

What Did Ramdev Post?

Ramdev wrote on X:
“If you want to run like a horse, have strong immunity, and slow aging, take Swarna Shilajit and Immunogrit Gold.”

These are Patanjali products, and Patanjali is a company founded by Ramdev and Balkrishna in 2006.

Johnson’s Response on Air Pollution

Bryan Johnson, who spends millions on anti-aging treatments, responded by highlighting India’s poor air quality. He shared data showing that:

  • The PM2.5 level in Haridwar was 36 µg/m³, which is equal to smoking 1.6 cigarettes a day.
  • This air pollution raises the risk of heart disease by 40-50%, lung cancer by three times, and chronic lung diseases like COPD.
  • It can shorten a person’s life by 5-7 years.

Shortly after posting this, Johnson tweeted that Ramdev had blocked him.

Johnson’s Earlier Concerns About India’s Air Pollution

Johnson recently made headlines when he walked out of a podcast hosted by Nikhil Kamath because of poor air quality. He explained that the room was circulating polluted outdoor air, making his air purifier useless.

During his stay in India, Johnson said he experienced health issues due to pollution and has frequently spoken about India’s worsening air quality.
