Watch: Woman Passes Kids from Balcony in Heart-Stopping Ahmedabad Fire Rescue
A major fire broke out on the fourth floor of C Block in Parishkar-1 Apartments, located in the Khokhra area of Ahmedabad, on Friday afternoon. Prompt action by the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) led to the successful rescue of 18 residents, including two children. No casualties or injuries have been reported.
According to officials, the blaze erupted around 3:30 PM and was brought under control by 6:00 PM. Seven fire tenders and multiple police teams were rushed to the scene after authorities received an alert. Thick black smoke engulfed the upper floors, creating panic among residents and drawing a large crowd outside the building.
In a heart-stopping moment captured on video and now widely shared on social media, a woman was seen lowering two children through a staircase balcony to two men on the floor below. The men managed to catch the children safely. The woman herself attempted to climb down through the narrow opening and was nearly in danger before the men managed to pull her to safety.
Divisional and deputy fire officers confirmed that the fire originated in the building’s wire duct, which runs vertically from the ground to the top floor. The resulting smoke filled the passages and made evacuation difficult.
“After reaching the spot, we rescued 18 residents and brought the fire under control. No one was injured in the incident,” said Deputy Fire Officer Rameshpuri Goswami.

While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, initial reports suggest the blaze began on an upper floor. Firefighters quickly initiated water-spraying operations to contain the fire and prevent further damage.
An official assessment of the damage is currently underway. Authorities have assured that a detailed inquiry will determine the cause and evaluate safety measures at the residential complex.
