Victim Uses AI to Track Attackers After Police Delay in Gurgaon Assault Case
In a shocking incident that unfolded near Dwarka Expressway in Gurgaon, a software developer was brutally attacked and his high-end sports bike vandalized by a group of men. The assault, which occurred on Sunday morning, was captured in a widely circulated video showing the attackers using sticks to damage the bike and physically assaulting the victim, despite his repeated pleas for mercy.

Hardik Sharma, 32, a software developer with a prominent food delivery platform, was riding with a group of bikers when the attackers, traveling in an SUV, overtook them recklessly. Sharma claims the assailants were intoxicated and armed with steel rods and baseball bats. One of them struck him on the head with a rod, though his helmet saved him from more severe injuries. However, he sustained four head injuries, which were later confirmed by medical reports. In addition to assaulting Sharma, the attackers severely damaged his Kawasaki ZX-4R sports bike, breaking its panels, lights, and fuel tank.
Frustrated with the police’s delayed response, Sharma expressed his dismay over the 12-hour delay in registering his complaint. “We reached the police station by 8 a.m., but we were sent from one station to another for several hours. It took another six hours to finally file the FIR,” he said. Sharma also noted that the charges filed against the attackers were bailable, leaving him feeling dissatisfied with the authorities’ lack of urgency. “They aren’t answering my calls or giving any updates,” he added.
In the absence of immediate action from the police, Sharma turned to technology for help. Using a paid artificial intelligence tool, he uploaded video and photo evidence from the incident, which allowed him to trace the attackers’ social media profiles. “We identified their Instagram accounts and even located the gym where they worked out. We shared all of this information with the police,” Sharma explained.
