UP CM Yogi Adityanath Pays Homage to Late BJP MLA Gopal Tandon

Lucknow, Nov 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the residence of former cabinet minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ashutosh Tandon ‘Gopalji’, who passed away after prolonged illness of Thursday, and paid floral tributes.

The CM, who was accompanied by Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, went to the Chowk residence of the BJP MLA. Earlier, he expressed grief over the sad demise of former minister in UP government and BJP MLA from Lucknow (East) constituency, Gopal Tandon, and sent his condolences to the aggrieved family members.

Taking to X, he wrote, “The demise of former minister and MLA from Lucknow East Ashutosh Tandon ‘Gopalji,’ is deeply saddening. He will always be remembered as a popular, hardworking, and belligerent politician. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed soul a place in his feet and the bereaved family members the strength to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti!”

It may be noted that former cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and BJP MLA from Lucknow East constituency Ashutosh Tandon ‘Gopalji’ passed away after prolonged illness on

Thursday. He was 63.

Family sources said that Gopalji, who had been ailing for a long time, took his last breath at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. He was the son of former governor and veteran BJP leader Lalji Tandon.
