Triptii Dimri Reportedly Misses Out on Aashiqui 3 Role; Anurag Basu Dismisses Rumors
There’s been a lot of buzz about Triptii Dimri possibly missing out on a role in Aashiqui 3 starring Kartik Aaryan. Rumors suggest that the filmmakers thought her recent on-screen image didn’t suit the role, as they were looking for someone with a more “innocent face” for the romantic film.
Reports claim that Triptii’s performances in movies like Animal and Bad Newzz, where she played bold and mature characters, led the producers to reconsider her casting. They believed her current image didn’t align with the “pure and innocent” vibe they wanted for the lead female character in Aashiqui 3.
According to Zoom, a source said, “The lead actress in Aashiqui 3 needs to radiate innocence. The team felt that Triptii’s recent roles made her too exposed for the kind of heartfelt love story they are creating.”
Director Anurag Basu recently addressed these rumors in an interview with Mid-day. He dismissed the claim that Triptii was dropped for being “too exposed,” saying, “Not true, she knows it,” but didn’t go into more detail.
Meanwhile, the film’s production has been delayed, and the search for a new female lead is ongoing. Filming is expected to begin later this month or in early February.
As for Triptii, she’s focusing on other projects. She’ll star in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara alongside Shahid Kapoor, replacing Kartik Aaryan in the film. She’s also gearing up to shoot Dhadak 2, a Dharma Productions film directed by Shazia Iqbal, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi.
