Lucknow, Nov 22: The 10-year-old son of a Provincial Police Services (PPS) officer was killed after being hit by an SUV in Gomti Nagar area of the state capital Lucknow on Tuesday, police sources said.
Police sources said that the incident took place when Naimish, son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava posted in SIT, was taking skating lessons from his coach. “Near Janeshwar Mishra park the white-coloured SUV hit Naimish. He was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead,” they said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ashish Shrivastava said that to trace the SUV passengers, the help of CCTV cameras was taken. “On the basis of CCTV footage SUV passengers Sarthak Singh and Devarishi Verma were nabbed. They will be taken on remand and quizzed,” he said.
Special Director General of Police (SDG) Prashant Kumar, ADG Renuka Mishra, DK Thakur, Piyush Mordiya, Naveen Arora and Police Commissioner SB Shiradkar along with other officers visited Shweta Srivastava’s house and consoled the bereaving family.
