Chennai, Oct 31: Tensions between the ruling DMK and Raj Bhavan in Tamil Nadu have escalated, with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin accusing Governor R.N. Ravi of functioning like a BJP functionary and alleging that Raj Bhavan is operating as a BJP office.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Stalin expressed concern over the Governor’s remarks and actions, stating that they give the impression of him being a functionary of the BJP and the Raj Bhavan functioning akin to a BJP office.

The Chief Minister further alleged that the Governor’s office has been releasing factually incorrect statements on various issues. When questioned about the recent incident involving the hurling of petrol bombs at the gates of Raj Bhavan, Stalin clarified that the bomb did not hit inside the Raj Bhavan but fell on the road.

He pointed out that the State police had provided a comprehensive clarification on the actions taken, supported by CCTV footage from the area. In contrast, the Governor’s office issued a statement creating the impression that the petrol bomb was aimed at the Raj Bhavan.

Stalin emphasized that the police acted swiftly and took appropriate action against the perpetrator, assuring that there would be no compromise on maintaining law and order in the state.

Asserting the inaccuracies in statements from Raj Bhavan on various issues, the Chief Minister justified his claim that the Raj Bhavan is acting as the BJP’s office in the state. The ongoing differences between the DMK-led government and the Governor’s office continue to be a focal point in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.
