Ayodhya | April 14, 2025 — Security measures in Ayodhya have been heightened following a threat email reportedly sent to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, prompting an official probe by authorities, police confirmed on Monday.

The email, written in English, is believed to have originated from Tamil Nadu, according to preliminary cyber-tracking by law enforcement agencies. The message was received late Sunday night or early Monday morning, officials said. While specific details of the threat have not been made public, sources within the police say the content was deemed serious enough to warrant immediate action.

As of now, the Trust has not issued any public response regarding the incident. However, internal sources suggest that intelligence and security agencies are closely monitoring the situation due to the high-profile status of the Ram Temple, which has become a major religious and tourist hub.

The Ram Mandir witnessed a record-breaking footfall in 2024, attracting over 135.5 million domestic visitors, surpassing even iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal. Given this massive influx, officials are particularly cautious about any potential threats to public safety.

In response to the email, security around the temple and other key locations in Ayodhya has been significantly intensified, with enhanced patrolling, surveillance, and checkpoints in place. Authorities stated that a detailed update would be provided once investigations determine the authenticity and motive behind the email.
