Bulandshahr, Oct 17: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that the entire society is secure only when half the population is secure and said that those who breach the safety of women will be hunted even if they hide in the depths of inferno.

Addressing the inauguration and foundation stone laying and assistance fund distribution ceremony of 256 development projects worth Rs 632 crore in Transport Nagar here, the CM emphasized that there is no caste of a mother, sister, or daughter, urging everyone to unite in safeguarding their safety, respect and self-reliance.

He said that when the dignity of women is ensured, investment follows naturally. He pointed out that over the past nine and a half years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tirelessly strived to elevate the respect and dignity of half the population.

Yogi said, “The Nari Shakti Vandan Act is poised to be a significant milestone. Now the mothers and sisters of the state will get the opportunity to be elected to one-third of the seats in the Assembly and Lok Sabha, like the Panchayat and local bodies.”

He pointed out that before the double engine government entered the scene, UP was a sick state, known for frequent incidents of unrest, chaos and anarchy. “Unfortunately, this situation has even made it unsafe for daughters to attend school. However, since our government took office, rioters are now often witnessed begging for their lives with placards hanging around their necks,” he said.

The CM said, “Currently, we have taken forward the fourth edition of Mission Shakti. This edition is also a campaign to once again effectively protect the dignity of women, enhance their respect and pave the way for their self-reliance.”

He said that the mission was launched in 2020 and taking this forward the double engine government is taking forward programmes for the welfare of women. He also pointed out that under the PM Awas Yojana, Prime Minister Modi has given houses to many women of the country, making them rightful owners of their houses.

Yogi underscored that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, people have witnessed the emergence of a new India. “This is an India characterized by capability, strength, and self-reliance and which is on its way to becoming a global superpower,” he said.

He said that the pre-2014 era was marked by a sense of distrust and insecurity. “Infiltrators freely entered the country, and there was confusion surrounding policies,” he said.

The CM said, “However, post-2014, Prime Minister Modi steered India towards a new chapter, that was free from discrimination based on caste, creed, religion, region, or language. This new India prioritized the effective execution of public welfare schemes to ensure equal rights for villages, the underprivileged, farmers, youth and women.”

He said, “Our daughters Parul Chaudhary and Anu Rani of western UP have brought laurels to the country as well as ‘mother power’ by bringing gold medals in the Asian Games. Our government will directly appoint both daughters as Deputy SPs. Apart from this, by organising a function in Lucknow, an assistance amount of Rs 3 crore will be given to those who won gold medals in the Asian Games, Rs 1.5 crore to those who won silver medals and Rs 75 lakh to the players of UP who won bronze medals.”

Yogi distributed an amount of Rs 72.90 crore to 2,528 self-help groups of ‘National Rural Livelihood Mission’ and Rs 29.02 crore to 54 beneficiaries of ‘One District, One Product Programme’. Apart from this, he provided Rs 19.16 crore to 175 beneficiaries of ‘Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme’.

He also distributed Rs 10.94 crore to 103 beneficiaries of ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana’.
