Hyderabad, Oct 30: The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught a Sub-Inspector of Police in Telangana when he allegedly accepted Rs 10,000 bribe from the complainant.

On Sunday, at about 11:49 hours Koreda Raju , Sub-Inspector of Police, Mamada Police Station of Soan Circle in Nirmal District was caught at his chamber by officials of ACB, Adilabad Unit when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs.10,000 from the Complainant.
The SI demanded the bribe from the Compainant Salkam Tirumal, a resident of Ananthapet Village in the same district for doing an official favour –” as a reward for issuing 41-A Cr. PC notice to the complainant’s brother Salkam Satish and to his cousin brother Salkam Suresh in Cr.No. 106/2023 U/ s 290,323 IPC of Mamada Police Station”.

The SI thereby performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly, a ACB release said on Monday.

The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Raju at his instance. The fingers of Right hand of the SI and contact portion — inner flap of his right front pocket of pants yielded positive results in the chemical test.

He was being arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Karimnagar, the release added. The case is under investigation.
