Hyderabad, October 20 – State Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar announced a series of initiatives to commemorate Police Martyrs’ Memorial Day, including the observance of Police Flag Day from October 21 to 31. The Police Flag Day Parade is scheduled to take place at the Gosha Mahal Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday.

DGP Anjani Kumar emphasized the active involvement of citizens in the events and awareness programs during these ten days. Public awareness initiatives will focus on highlighting the services provided by the police, the challenges they face in carrying out their duties, and understanding the expectations of the public regarding police services.

As part of the outreach, every police station in the state will conduct an open house program, providing an opportunity for citizens and youth to learn about the efforts and services of the police department. The DGP also mentioned the organization of essay writing and debate competitions for students and police officers at various levels.

Essay competitions for degree and postgraduate students will revolve around the theme ‘Role of Police in curbing misuse of social media.’ At the ASI, Head Constable, and Constable levels, the focus will be on ‘For Police – Work Life Balance.’ For SI level officers, the topic will be ‘Role of Police in maintaining gender equality in society.’

In addition to these competitions, senior police officials have been directed to visit the homes of police martyrs, addressing their welfare needs, and solving any issues they may face. Photography and short video competitions related to policing in the state will be organized to engage the public and showcase the various aspects of police work.

The DGP further instructed the organization of blood donation camps and cycle rallies as part of the comprehensive initiatives to honor and remember the sacrifices made by police personnel. The ten-day program aims to foster greater understanding and appreciation for the role of the police in society.
