Hyderabad, Nov 25: Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for External Affairs, asserted that it’s time to evaluate what Telangana has gained and lost in the last 10 years, expressing her opinion that the state has experienced more losses than gains.
Addressing reporters during her visit to participate in the election campaign, Lekhi criticized the state’s governance, stating that it fell into a debt trap despite being a surplus state. She accused the government of launching schemes with more focus on scamming than proper planning and implementation.
Lekhi also expressed concern about what she deemed as the government’s appeasement of one section while discriminating against others, specifically citing the four percent reservations for Muslims as unconstitutional.
During the interaction, Lekhi announced BJP’s plan to appoint a minister exclusively in the Cabinet to handle and coordinate with the Centre on issues faced by NRIs once the party comes to power.
Accusing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi of divisive politics, Lekhi emphasized her party’s stance against such practices.
Responding to questions about the Palestine and Hamas conflict, Lekhi stated that while they accept the two-nation theory of Palestine, they find the events of October 7 unacceptable. She expressed a desire for de-escalation to end terrorism.
