Hyderabad, Nov 22: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped an Agriculture officer in Telangana on Tuesday while he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 10,000.
At 16:09 hours today, the accused officer Chepyala Pochaiah, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Bichkunda Mandal, Kamareddy District, was caught red-handed by the ACB near Bichkunda Bus Stand. He was demanding and accepting the bribe amount of Rs.10,000 from the complainant, Gundekallur Gangadhar of Gopanpally Village, Bichkunda Mandal in the same district through a private person. This was done as an undue advantage and not to harass the complainant under the guise of booking false cases against the complainant’s fertilizer shop, according to an ACB statement.
The tainted amount of Rs.10,000 was recovered at the instance of the private person, who feigned innocence of the bribe amount, and both of his hands’ fingers tested positive. Thus, the accused officer performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
Therefore, the Accused Officer was arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Karimnagar.
