Vijayawada, Nov 18 — Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, politburo member and ex-MLA of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the State Crime Investigation Department (CID) of targeting the party’s donations. Rao alleged that the CID, which has been investigating the Skill Development Corporation Scam case for four years, is now trying to find loopholes in the TDP’s funds received through donations.
Rao criticized the CID for sending notices to the TDP office to submit details on donations and questioned the agency’s reluctance to investigate the wealth accumulation of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. He accused the CID of being involved in political vendetta and claimed that the media outlets owned by the Chief Minister were publishing fabricated reports to mislead the public.
The TDP leader argued that the CID’s notices sought irrelevant details and questioned its impartiality. He emphasized that the TDP regularly submits relevant information to the Election Commission and accused the CID of resorting to mudslinging instead of conducting a fair investigation.
Rao alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy had rewarded senior officers for attempting to send former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to jail. He criticized the Assistant Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy for making inaccurate presentations in court regarding the TDP’s funds.
