Chandrasekhar said that the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme has already propelled India into becoming a trusted and major hub for smartphone manufacturing and exports.

Tata Group has signed the deal to take over Wistron InfoComm Manufacturing (India) Private Limited for US$125 million. Wistron was the first of Apple’s three global contract manufacturers to start rolling out iPhones in India.

While sharing the development, Minister Chandrasekhar attached a press release issued by Wistron about the deal with the Tatas.
