Chennai, Nov 7 – The Tamil Nadu government has announced a holiday for all its offices, state PSUs, and educational institutions on November 13, in light of the Diwali festival falling on Sunday, November 12. To compensate for this, November 18, a Saturday, will be treated as a working day.

An official release on Monday stated that the decision was made to consider the welfare of students, their parents, teachers, and government employees. Many will be returning to their workplaces after celebrating Diwali with their families in their native places on November 12. To facilitate a smoother transition, a one-day holiday on November 13 has been declared.

On November 13, all government offices, PSUs, schools, colleges, and educational institutions will remain closed. In lieu of this, November 18 will be observed as a working day. This move is aimed at ensuring the convenience of the public and maintaining a balanced schedule following the festival.
