Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, Nov 28 – State assembly speaker Rahul Narvekar has said he will take a right decision as the speaker of the legislative assembly as per provisions of the constitution in the MLA disqualification case.
Narvekar, who visited his residence in Sawantwadi in Sindhudurg district Monday, while talking with reporters this morning, said on a statement of Shiv Sena(UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray that Shinde group MLAs had violated anti-defection law and that Thackeray could not decide where Shinde group MLAs have violated the anti-defection law or not.
As per the constitution provisions, he would take appropriate decision on MLAs disqualification case and to make any prophecy on this issue was against the provisions of the constitution as the present government has proved its majority in the state assembly.
Narvekar said giving confidence to the people of the state that as per provisions of the constitution he would take right decision on this issue while whether the government fall on depend on its ‘numbers’ and if it has no majority then the government will fall, he cleared.
He said he regretted that there was no expected development in Kokan but now present government was doing the development speedily , which would be seen in future by Konkan people. He would call attention of PWD minister Ravindra Chavan, towards pending issues including Kokan-Mu.bai national highway, Redi-Revas road, who would look into this issues.
On celebrating Navy-Day on December 4 in Sindhudurg, Narvekar said ‘it is a matter of pride that such an event takes place on the land of Kokan, which is big opportunity, a big moment for the peoples of Kokan, because of the attention of the country is on Kokan’.
Sawantwadi ‘Sansthan’ Yuvraj Lakham Raje Bhosale, district collector Kishor Tavade, Tahsildar Shreedhar Patil and others were present on this occassion.
