Siddhivinayak Temple Sees 15% Rise in Revenue, Earns ₹133 Crore
Mumbai, April 2025 – The Siddhivinayak Temple Trust in Prabhadevi has reported a 15% increase in revenue, reaching ₹133 crore for the financial year 2024-25, up from ₹114 crore the previous year. The figures were confirmed by Executive Officer Veena Patil.
How the Temple Earns Revenue
The temple generates income from donation boxes (daan petis), puja offerings, prasad and laddoo sales, online donations, and gold and silver offerings.
Future Revenue Estimate: ₹154 Crore
On March 31, the temple’s managing committee released its budget for 2025-26, estimating a revenue of ₹154 crore. Deputy Executive Officer Sandeep Rathod mentioned that the final income of ₹133 crore was 15% higher than expected.
Despite rising gold and food prices, donations through gold and silver offerings increased. Rathod also emphasized that prasad is sold at cost price, ensuring no profit while keeping prices stable.
Better Darshan Experience Increases Donations
Rathod credited the efficient darshan system for the rise in revenue. He explained that well-organized queues and smooth darshan improve the devotee experience, leading to higher donations.
“If the darshan process is smooth, more devotees can visit, and contributions naturally increase. At Siddhivinayak, each devotee gets 10-15 seconds for darshan, compared to 5-7 seconds at other temples, making their experience better and encouraging donations,” he said.
The Siddhivinayak Temple continues to attract lakhs of devotees every year, further strengthening its financial position.
