Nashik, Dec 5 – The Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) on Monday took out a bullock carts ‘morcha’ to the collector’s office here demanding immediate compensation to farmers who lost their crops due to recent unseasonal rains and hail.

About 35,000 hectares of agricultural land has been damaged in the district due to unseasonal rains.
Led by party’s district chief Vijay Karanjkar and city chief Sudhakar Badgujar, the ‘morcha’ started from the party office in Shalimar area of city, in which more than 20 bullock carts, some tractors participated.
The farmers presented their problems to the tune of ‘bhajans’ with tal-mrudung. They raised slogans against the grand coalition government.

Instead of helping the affected farmers, the ruling party was busy with election campaigning, they alleged.
Recently, the NCP (Sharad Pawar group) had taken out a tractor ‘morcha’ in Dindori.
