Mumbai, Oct 2: On Sunday, as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada initiative, Indian Railways executed a groundbreaking feat. Vande Bharat trains situated across the country underwent simultaneous cleaning, setting a record with a remarkable completion time of just 14 minutes.
This historic achievement was carried out for the first time in the annals of Indian Railways, guided by the expertise of Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways. The event took place in the virtual presence of dignitaries through a video link.
The cleaning operation encompassed three Vande Bharat Express trains: Solapur-CSMT-Solapur at CSMT, CSMT-Sainagar Shirdi-CSMT at Sainagar Shirdi, and Bilaspur-Nagpur–Bilaspur at Nagpur.
Initiated at 12:42 hours upon the train’s arrival at platform no. 8 at CSMT, the comprehensive cleaning was successfully concluded by 12:56 hrs, setting a new record for efficiency. A dedicated team of 44 cleaning staff, organized into three teams, orchestrated the entire cleaning process.
The breakdown of the 14-minute cleaning operation included 2 minutes for the collection of garbage in bags, 3 minutes for cleaning seats and snack tables, 3 minutes for cleaning panels and the coach, and 6 minutes for cleaning the coach flooring.
This exceptional accomplishment reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to innovation, utilizing advanced techniques and equipment to achieve such remarkable feats.
