Pune, Nov 3: The Railway Police have filed a criminal case against a police constable of Railway Protection Force and another person for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl from Chhattisgarh in an institution here and arrested the latter.
The girl, a class 10 student, came to Pune from Chhattisgarh with her boyfriend on September 12. On their arrival, three people approached them and took both of them to the police station.
After a long time, RPF shifted the underage girl to an institution at Tadiwala road area, whose responsibility is with RPF.
After admitting the girl to the institution, police constable Anil Pawar and one Kamlesh Tiwari, an employee of the institution, repeatedly raped her between September 12 and September 17 in office of institution.
Meanwhile, RPF officials informed the Chhattisgarh Police about the girl, who lived with her family in Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh and was lured by the boy into marriage.
Then, a Chhattisgarh Police team came to Pune along with her parents.
During questioning, the girl told them that she was raped by constable Pawar and Tiwari.
Based on her complaint, the Chhattisgarh Police registered a case of rape against the accused with Pune Railway Station Police.
They have registered a case under sections 342, 450, 384, 376, 376 (2) (n) 506, 34C of Indian Penal Code and under sections 4, 6, 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against constable Pawar and Tiwari, a native of Uttar Pradesh.
After registration of the case, police have arrested Tiwari, but constable Pawar has been absconding.
He has been suspended, police said.
Meanwhile, Uttar Bharatiya Vikas Parishad founder-president Satish Chand Dubey has strongly condemned incident and demanded for strict action against both the accused.
