New Delhi, Nov 20 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi, known for his commitment to promises and friendships, recently demonstrated his enduring bond with veteran journalist Law Kumar Mishra. On Friday night, Modi reminisced about their nearly 40-year-old friendship and engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Mishra over the phone, delving into decades-old memories.

Upon meeting Mishra’s son Abhinandan Mishra, the Deputy Editor of Dainik Bhaskar in New Delhi, the Prime Minister learned more about Law Kumar Mishra’s role as the Special Correspondent of The Times of India in the 80s. Modi, moved by the memories, affectionately took his old friend’s mobile number.

Expressing his affection, Modi reached out to Mishra at 9.45 pm the same night, recalling their shared experiences and shared laughter. In an exclusive conversation with UNI, Law Kumar Mishra was visibly emotional as he recounted the Prime Minister’s warm conversation.

“I could not have imagined that my dear friend Narendra Bhai Modi would meet me like Krishna in an exclusive conversation with ‘Dinheen Sudama’ and go deep into my heart,” Mishra shared emotionally.

Modi, expressing joy, remarked, “For me today, the sun has risen in the West. ‘Abhi’ (Abhinandan) too is a nice man.” The Prime Minister expressed his intent to reconnect and share old memories during his next visit to Patna.

Their friendship dates back to Modi’s time as a pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Gujarat, and it deepened during their encounters in the nineties and later in Bhopal in 1998. Mishra reflected on the enduring bond, emphasizing how the Prime Minister still carries concerns for the families affected by the serial bomb blasts at his ‘Hunkar Rally’ in Patna in October 2013.

In their conversation, Modi recounted his days in Ahmedabad, Srinagar, and Patna, showcasing the depth of his emotional connection with Mishra. The meeting, after years of separation, became an invaluable gift for Mishra, who now resides in Patna after retiring from The Times of India.

A seasoned political analyst, Mishra continues to contribute to various issues through freelance writing and television appearances. The decades-long friendship between Modi and Mishra serves as a testament to the enduring bonds formed in the tapestry of Indian politics.
