OnePlus Nord CE 5 Leak Hints at Stylish Redesign and Massive Battery Boost

OnePlus is gearing up to refresh its mid-range smartphone lineup, and all eyes are now on the upcoming Nord CE 5, expected to hit the Indian market in May 2025. With a projected price tag under ₹25,000, the device aims to keep up the brand’s reputation for blending performance with affordability.

A Fresh Look with Premium Inspiration

What’s catching the most buzz is the completely revamped rear design. According to newly surfaced renders from Smartprix, the Nord CE 5 will sport a flat frame and back panel, stepping away from the slightly curved form seen in the Nord CE 4.

The design is minimalistic, with the iconic OnePlus logo at the center. The highlight? A dual-camera setup housed in two large circular rings, vertically aligned within an oval-shaped cutout. This layout seems to borrow design cues from the upcoming iPhone 16, giving the Nord CE 5 a premium feel. Nestled between the lenses is a tiny dot — likely a sensor or secondary microphone — paired with an LED flash to the side.

Interestingly, this camera design isn’t unique to OnePlus alone — OPPO’s K13 and the rumored OnePlus 13T are expected to feature a similar layout, thanks to the shared BBK Electronics DNA. The leaked images don’t reveal color options yet, leaving room for surprises at launch.

Big Display, Bigger Battery

Under the hood, the Nord CE 5 seems poised to impress. It’s expected to come with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, making it a great pick for streaming and gaming.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset — the same processor found in the Oppo Reno 13 Pro and Realme P3 Ultra. Performance should be solid for day-to-day use and multitasking.

But the real showstopper could be the battery. OnePlus is rumored to equip the Nord CE 5 with a massive 7,100mAh battery, a major jump from the 5,500mAh unit in its predecessor. Paired with 80W fast charging, the phone could offer incredible battery life with minimal downtime.

The large battery is likely made possible by silicon-carbon technology, which helps keep size and weight in check — an approach already seen in other brands like iQOO.

Additional Features

Here’s what else we might see on the Nord CE 5:

  • 8GB RAM
  • Up to 256GB storage
  • Hybrid SIM slot (either dual SIMs or SIM + microSD)
  • Single bottom-firing speaker

Though OnePlus hasn’t officially confirmed the specs or launch date, the Nord CE 5 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting mid-range launches of 2025 — especially for users prioritizing battery life and modern design.

If OnePlus nails the pricing, this could be a serious contender in the under-₹25K market.
