Mumbai, Dec 5 – A tution teacher was arrested for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old minor girl, who was his student, police said here on Monday.

According to the police, the victim, a resident of Sion, used to go to the accused for private classes in the Antop Hill area of Wadala.

Starting on November 1, the accused tried to get close to her, which turned into touching her inappropriately. With growing discomfort, she stopped going to classes and stayed at home.
Police said that she cited “health reasons” to her parents for not going to the tuition, and kept dodging it until one day she finally opened up to her parents.

Later, the victim along with her parents approached the Antop Hill police, subsequently, an FIR was registered and the teacher was arrested by the police for the charges of molestation and sexual assault. He was booked under section the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO). Further probe is underway.

Meanwhile, in another incident that took place in Kandivali’s Damu Nagar, a drunk man killed his friend and dumped his body in an isolated place in the area.

Police initially filed a case of accidental death after the body of the 34-year-old was found. However, the police suspected the circumstances around his death, which then led to the unveiling of a cold-blooded murder plot.

The accused, Ravindra Giri had an affair with the deceased Yogesh Kamble’s wife and hence he killed him using a stone. He then hid the stone in his bag to show that it was an accidental death. The local police immediately nabbed him and a case was filed against him in the matter.
