Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nov 4: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) on Saturday announced ten percent fare hike during Diwali season.
According to the official sources said that, In order to take advantage of the rush on the occasion of Diwali, the MSRTC has decided to increase the fares of all its bus types by 10 percent.
Therefore, the passengers going to the village on the occasion of Diwali as well as those traveling for tourism will be hit hard by this price hike.
Every year MSRTC Corporation hikes fares on holidays as per variable seasonal fare hike formula to increase revenue.
This fare increase will be applicable from the midnight of November 7 i.e. between 8th and 27th November. After that ticket charging will start as per the original ticket price.
Also, passengers who have made advance ticket reservation will have to pay the remaining balance of their ticket to the carrier at the time of actual travel, sources added.
