
Jammu, Oct 22 – In a recent development, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued orders for the transfer of three high-ranking police officers in Jammu. As per the official order, Chandan Kohli, IPS (AGMUT:13), currently serving as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Jammu, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Senior Executive Cadre of the Cabinet Secretariat. This appointment is on a deputation basis for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Consequently, Kohli is relieved from the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir to take up his new assignment at the Centre.
The order further states that, in the interest of administration, Vinod Kumar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, is transferred and posted as the new Senior Superintendent of Police in Jammu. Additionally, Swarn Singh Kotwal, IPS, currently serving as Commandant, SDRF 1st Bn., Srinagar, has been transferred and appointed as the Director, Special Security Force, J&K, replacing Joginder Singh. Joginder Singh, in turn, has been posted as the Senior Superintendent of Police in Udhampur, succeeding Vinod Kumar, IPS.”
