Pune, Nov 18 — Pune Metro Line 3, linking the IT hub Hinjawadi to the central business district Shivajinagar, is advancing rapidly with civil construction. The project is now poised for the next crucial phase—procuring, testing, and installing the rail tracks.
The 23.3 km Puneri Metro has initiated preliminary trials of the rail tracks at its Depot in Maan village, Hinjawadi. Once the preliminary testing is successfully completed, the rail tracks will be ready for installation along the Puneri Metro route, marking a significant step forward in the metro’s progress.
The civil construction, carried out by Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis, involves Tata Group’s Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL) as the dedicated entity overseeing implementation. The upcoming rail track installation underscores the systematic advancement of Pune Metro Line 3, a key infrastructure project connecting vital business and IT districts in the city.
