Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Oct 26: As part of ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’, ‘Mitti Ko Naman Aur Vironko Vandan’ campaign, a team of volunteers carrying sacred soil from the district in 11 urns left for Mumbai on Wednesday, in the presence of Union Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad.
The sacred soil from various villages in the district was collected in 11 ‘kalashas’.


Speaking at a programme organised on occasion in the District Planning hall here, Dr Karad asserted that ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’, ‘Mitti Ko Naman’ is increasing the sense of national unity among the countrymen.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and other dignitaries will welcome these urns in Mumbai on Thursday (tomorrow).
The volunteers carrying the urns will go to Delhi on Oct 31.
