Hyderabad, Nov 4: The Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj on Friday said that as many as 256 FIRs registered in connection with the violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in the poll-bound Telangana , where Assembly elections are to be held on November 30.

Out of 362 MCC violations received, registered FIRs for 256 and in which 137 are political parties linked, said Vikas Raj in a press conference here.
Of the 137 MCC violations relating to political parties linked, a maximum of 30 FIRs lodged against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), 16 against Congress , 5 against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and three against BSP, he added.


He said the nomination filing process for the November 30 Telangana Assembly poll began today with a gazette notification being issued for the conduct of election.
Except on Sunday, candidates can file their nominations from 11 AM to 3 PM on working days from November 3 to 10.


The nominations would be scrutinized on November 13 and November 15 is the last date for withdrawal of candidatures, he said.
Polling would be held on November 30 and out of 119 assembly constituencies, the polling will be held from 7 AM to 4 PM in 13 assembly segments hile in the remaining constituencies, the polling will be held from 7 am to 5 pm, he informed.
