The Maratha Kranti Morcha has issued a call for a citywide shutdown in Pimpri-Chinchwad scheduled for Saturday, September 9. This move comes in response to recent events where police used batons to disperse protesters who had been peacefully on a hunger strike for four days in Jalna’s Antarwali village, demanding Maratha reservation.
The outrage stemming from this incident has resonated throughout the state, leading to the organization of Bandh protests by the Maratha Kranti Morcha in several districts. In various locations, members of the Maratha community have taken to the streets to express their dissent. Given these circumstances, the Maratha Kranti Morcha, along with the entire Maratha community, has called for a citywide shutdown in Pimpri-Chinchwad to protest against the police’s use of batons on protesters.
With the exception of essential services, all other businesses and shops are expected to remain closed during the Bandh. The Maratha Kranti Morcha, in collaboration with the broader Maratha community, has issued an appeal for the participation of all residents in this citywide shutdown in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
