A 34-year-old man, Atul Subhash, who worked as a senior executive in a private firm in Bengaluru, was found dead by suicide at his home in Marathahalli on Monday. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Subhash reportedly left behind a 24-page suicide note accusing his wife and her family of harassment, according to the police.
This part of our legal system needs a complete overhaul. So many innocent men and their families are being tortured. Imagine what #AtulSubhash must be going through during his last moments.#JusticeForAtulSubhash pic.twitter.com/y0WTsQMOfB

Subhash had been living alone in the Manjunath Layout area after separating from his wife. He was reportedly facing a marital dispute and had recently been named in a domestic violence case filed by his wife in Uttar Pradesh, which is believed to have caused him emotional distress.
Before his death, Subhash carefully planned his actions. He emailed his suicide note to several people and shared it in a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was a part of. He also left a sign at his home that read, “Justice is due.” Additionally, he placed important details in a cupboard, including information about his note, vehicle keys, and a list of tasks, which suggested he wanted his story to be heard.
After a neighbor reported the incident, the police registered a case of unnatural death and filed charges of abetment against Subhash’s wife and her family. Authorities are investigating the situation.
This tragic event highlights the serious impact of unresolved marital issues and mental health struggles. Authorities urge anyone experiencing distress to seek help from mental health professionals or helplines.
