Mumbai, Nov 9: The Maharashtra Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on Wednesday took many important decisions in a meeting held here, including on early possession of Air India building and for upliftment of Dhangar community.
The government decided to take steps for early possession of Air India building at Nariman Point. It also gave nod for waiving off all unearned income and penalties of Air India.
It was decided to implement effective schemes soon for upliftment of Dhangar community and for this, an empowered committee will be formed to oversee the schemes.
The Cabinet also approved the state export promotion policy.
The government also approved a provision of Rs 4,250 crore for benefit of farmers.
The Cabinet also approved barrages in Mangrulpir taluk of Washim district, where more than 2,200 hectares of land will be irrigated, benefitting the villagers.
The government also gave approval for reforms in Textile policy of the state, as a result, mega textile projects will benefit from the collective incentive scheme.
It also gave nod for filling up 282 posts of teachers in ashram schools, as well as in aided private Ayurveda, Unani colleges through the State Selection Board.
The government also gave sanction for setting up modern orange processing centres at five places in Vidarbha for benefit of orange growers.
It also gave nod for setting up of a Tourist Centre and a multi-purpose complex in Mauritius to provide
information about Maharashtra.
It was also decided to set up a police dog training centre at Baramati.
The Cabinet also gave approval for setting up of Bovine Breeding Regulatory Authority.
