Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 25: A 23-year-old man was arrested on Friday by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for threatening to blow up the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai Airport.

In an email to the Airport at 11.06 am on Thursday, he said he will blow up the Airport Terminal 2 in 48 hours, if he was not paid ‘USD1 million in Bitcoin’, sources said.
Soon after receiving the email, the ATS cyber cell began a probe, following the filing of a FIR at Sahar Police station, and traced the IP address from which the email had been sent. “This is a warning, another alert will be after 24 hours,” the email said.
Later, the ATS team rushed to Kerala Capital ‘Thiruvananthpurm’ and nabbed the man whose identity is yet to be revealed. He was taken to Mumbai for further interrogation.
