Bhopal, Nov 16 – The cacophony of Assembly election campaigning came to a halt at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh as the state prepares for the formation of its 16th Vidhan Sabha.
The voting for all 230 constituencies is scheduled for Friday, marking the culmination of a frenetic campaign period where the BJP, Congress, and other parties sought to influence voters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav actively participated in the campaign. The polling will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with special arrangements in Leftwing extremism-affected areas. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan affirmed the completion of preparations for the election, which will involve an electorate exceeding 5.60 crore.
