Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Nov 2: In a vitriolic assault on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday accused the former of being a dictator who only utters untruth and is forgetful.
Addressing a rally in this district headquarters of election-bound Chhattisgarh, the visiting leader alleged, “Mr Modi is a dictator who always says ‘Do not look at anyone else, see me and cast your vote’. Will he run his hukumat (reign) in ten places simultaneously? Will Mr Modi occupy the district panchayat chair and also that of mayor? This is supposed to be a democracy; the kings have gone!”
The Prime Minister does not desire that power comes into the hands of the indigent, the Congress bigwig thundered, and asked rhetorically whether Mr Modi eradicated poverty from Gujarat during his years in the Chief Minister’s saddle.
“He is a liar as he falsely promised Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s account after black money stashed abroad is brought back, two crore jobs per annum and doubling of agrarian income.
Modi is misusing central agencies and letting prices increase at an unbridled pace. It is crucial to save society, the Constitution, democracy and the country,” Mr Kharge emphasised.
The Prime Minister even forgets the duration of his tenure and that of his predecessors by often wondering what the Congress achieved in “70” years, the party President said, quipping that Mr Modi boasts as if the country became independent in 2014!
“The BJP is selling tribal land and forests to tycoons such as Mr Gautam Adani,” he underlined.
