Katra Navratra Fest Chandigarh’s Laisal wins all India devotional song contest

Jammu, Oct 25: The nine days long All India Devotional Song Competition came to musical conclusion with Laisal Roy from Chandigarh winning the title in the mega final of the competition at Katra in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official here on Tuesday said that the function concluded last night amidst chanting of Bhajans, beating of drums and firing of crackers at Yog Ashram Complex.

Anmol from Hoshiarpur took second position and the third position was held by Sukhjinder from Punjab out of five candidates who reached in the mega final.

The competition was jointly organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Department of J&K Tourism, Mh1 in association with J&K Bank, DIVINITI, Nice Gems, Nidheesh Builders Jammu Pvt.Ltd., Pure Roots Herbals, Vishwayatan Yog Ashram Complex with active support of District Administration and the local host community.

Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Anand Jain was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Deputy Inspector General of Police, Suleman Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal, Joint Director Tourism, Sunaina Sharma, SDM Katra Deepak Dubey, Additional SP Katra Vipan Chandra, Captain Murti Gupta were among distinguished guests.

Noted Bollywood Media personalities including Ganesh Jain Former SMVD Shrine Board member & Managing Director Venus Worldwide,Pahlaj Nihalini Former Chairman Central Board of Film Certification and filmmaker, actress Mishikka Chourasia, Famous Former Actress & wife of famous actor Shatrugan Sinha,Poonam Sinha,Shankar Sahney the leading film singer,Rishi Raj Film maker,Kumar Mohan Film maker & Film Trade analyst,Vice President Zee Network Barkha Arora, CL Verma and Dr. Surinder were the judges of the mega final .

The winner was awarded a prize worth Rs.3 lakh in the shape of gold while gold worth Rs One lakh to second position and gold worth Rs 50,000/- to the third position holder.

Jain speaking on the occasion said that this competition has attained good heights and complimented the organizers for the same and thanked all the people and organizations for extending their cooperation in making it a grand success and especially the people from film and media fraternity who make it a point in coming over here and supporting it.

Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta said that leaving aside providing a platform to the singers, the live telecast of the event all over the world, has given vast publicity to the event and Tourism of J&K and Jammu region in particular and invited the film Industry people for film shootings over here.

Rakesh Wazir, Chairman of this All India Devotional Competition and President Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra compared the proceedings of the programme in a magnificent way.

Renowned Bollywood Singers Shanker Sawhney, known for his Maha Marantugya Manter which has got record 50 crore views, Amrinder Bobby and former winners of competition gave live performances and captivated the audience with their melodic voices.

On the occasion the trailer/poster of Pahlaj Nihalani’s new coming up movie “Anari is back”which is going to be released on Nov 24 is also released amidst the presence of its actress in lead role Mishika Chourasia.
