Hyderabad, Nov 23: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader B.S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday urged the people of Telangana not to be deceived by the “false” promises of the Congress party, emphasising its failure to fulfill its commitments.

Addressing reporters here, Yeddyurappa noted that the Congress party has been attempting to replicate the Karnataka model to win elections in Telangana but has failed to deliver on its promises in the neighboring state.

“Congress is following the Karnataka model to win elections in Telangana. The party deceived voters after winning elections in Karnataka. It announced a five-guarantee scheme there, and here it is presenting a six-guarantee scheme. Do not get carried away by empty promises. The unemployment allowance of Rs. 3000 for graduates and Rs. 2,500 for diploma holders has not been launched so far,” cautioned Yeddyurappa.

He highlighted that the Gruaha Lakshmi scheme, which aims to provide Rs. 2,000 for women in BPL families, is not reaching all eligible recipients. Yeddyurappa mentioned that despite 1.16 crore beneficiaries being registered under the scheme, which requires Rs. 2300 crore per month, only Rs. 2119 crore was distributed over the past four months.

He noted complaints from people about money not being transferred to their accounts, and the government blaming procedural and technical issues.

Addressing other issues, Yeddyurappa pointed out discrepancies in the implementation of the Free Travel scheme and criticized the government for failing to clear arrears to KSRTC, reducing RTC buses in rural areas, and altering the conditions of the Gruha Jyothi scheme, which initially promised 200 units of free power.

He highlighted the government’s failure to pay money to Discoms, releasing only Rs. 1,500 crore out of the total dues of Rs. 8,506 crore. Yeddyurappa also criticized the improper implementation of the Anna Bhagya scheme due to a lack of proper procurement.

Yeddyurappa urged people not to fall into the trap of the Congress party’s promises and advocated for voting for the BJP for comprehensive development.
