Kakinada, Nov 16: JNTUK Vice Chancellor Prof GVR Prasadaraju has stressed the need for application of artificial intelligence in the field of industrial safety to prevent accidents.
Participating as the chief guest at the one-day training programme on ` work permit system- Accidents prevention ‘ organized by the Factories department in association with the JNTJUK at the university alumni auditorium here on Wednesday, he said, many of the industrial accidents could be effectively prevented by adopting the artificial intelligence system.
D. Chandrasekhara Varma Director of Factories who is the guest of honour, explained the importance of coordination and communication among various departments of the factories for accident prevention.
TEC Vidya Sagar safety management specialist, P Vasudev Safety head Reliance Industries Limited, Abhay Singh DGM L& T. Shaik Khader Vali Vice president Grasim chemicals spoke on different topics like work permit for confine space, hot work, energy isolation, and work at height.
The guests later distributed certificates and course material to the participants. Muralikrishna Inspector of Factories said that around 400 safety engineers from 125 industries in the erstwhile undivided East Godavari district along with 40 research scholars and PG students from JNTUK attended.
