London, Nov 24: Fast bowler Josh Tongue has been ruled out of England’s tour to the West Indies due to an injury.
In his place, an inexperienced right-armer Mathew Potts has been replaced for the ODI series, while no replacement has been named for T20I series.
Tongue suffered the injury at the training camp with the England Lions in the UAE.
England plays three three-match ODI series and five-match T20I series against West Indies.
Potts last played three ODI matches, and the most recent appearance was against Ireland in Bristol just ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Tongue has already played two Test matches, but yet to make a debut in the white-ball cricket for England and was looking forward to put up a stellar show, especially after an ignominious exit of his country in the recently-concluded ODI World Cup tournament.
