Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Oct 2: The 38th annual three-day convention of Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) came to an end here.
In a valedictory function of the convention held on Sunday, IATO promised to lengthen the tourism period in the city with two world heritage sites here.
Union Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad, Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve, IATO chairman Rajiv Mehra, vice president Ravi Gosain, Rajnish Kayasth, secretary Sanjay Razdan, Jaswant Singh, Sunit Kothari, Vinay Tyagi, former president Pronob Sarkar, Jitendra Kejriwal were present on dias for the valedictory function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Karad said, “The tourism sector will play a key role in making India a USD five trillion dollar economy. The central government has increased the annual budget of tourism in the country by five times. Will try my level best to resolve the issues and boost tourism here.”
While, Danve said, “Now, it is time for tourism to flourish. The members of IATO should aggressively market Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to their potential customers so as to lengthen the tenure of tourism business here. A report of this convention will be prepared and submitted to Chief Minister.”
