Srinagar, Nov 11: The ski resort of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed the season’s first significant snowfall, bringing joy to the faces of tourists. Several inches of snow covered the main bowl, and tourists were seen indulging in snowball fights to express their delight. Upper reaches of Affarwat and Kongdori in Gulmarg also experienced substantial snowfall, adding to the enchantment for visitors.
The fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of the Kashmir valley, coupled with widespread rains in the plains, created a picturesque winter landscape. Tourists, including children from Kolkata, marveled at the beauty of Gulmarg, with some experiencing snowfall for the first time. Many engaged in sledding and capturing memorable pictures against the backdrop of snow-clad mountains. With Gulmarg poised to welcome a record number of tourists this winter, authorities are ensuring all necessary facilities for an unforgettable experience. The Department of Tourism, in collaboration with various stakeholders, is finalizing preparations to offer a delightful winter tourism season in Gulmarg.
