Mumbai, Oct 27: Union Women & Child Development Minister Smriti Irani announced on Friday that the central government will pay installment under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana for the safety of Anganwadi workers.

Speaking at public awareness programme on ‘Pradhan Mantri Matruvandana Yojana’ organised by the Union Ministry of Women & Child Development at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre here, she further announced that the central government will provide all possible support for skill development of Anganwadi workers, helpers.

She said that Anganwadi workers will be given Rs 12,800 for the purchase of mobile phones.

The Minister assured that the process for promotion of 3,000 Anganwadi helpers in Maharashtra will be completed soon.

The central government will soon issue orders to start 1,000 nurseries for the children of employed women in urban areas, she added.
