Hassan, Dec 5 – Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Monday said when political leaders including Siddaramaiah wrote JDS off, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed him and his party into the NDA fold.
“When HD Kumaraswamy headed the JDS-Congress coalition government in 2018, leaders of many secular parties attended the oath-taking ceremony. Later, the Kumaraswamy-led government was removed.
“It was the Congress that kept the JDS out of the INDIA Alliance. Many leaders, including Siddaramaiah started to talk about JDS losing its existence, PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed us (into the NDA fold),” he told reporters here.
Both JDS and BJP will come to an unanimous decision on contesting all 28 Parliamentary seats in Karnataka, Gowda said.
Both Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah may invite HD Kumaraswamy and others to Delhi next week to discuss the future course of action to fight against the Congress, the former PM said.
He was in the city to attend a private function. Commenting on assembly election results, Gowda alleged that the Congress won Telangana by distributing money taken from Karnataka.
“How much money from Karnataka reached Telangana? How much has the Election Commission seized?
Congress won in Telangana by distributing money taken from Karnataka,” he alleged.
