Fadnavis Announces SIT for Arson Cases in Majalgaon and Beed during Maratha Reservation Agitation

Nagpur, Dec 16 – Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the creation of a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to investigate the arson case in Majalgaon and Beed, which occurred on October 30 during Maratha reservation agitation.


Fadnavis responded to a notice in the Legislative Assembly stating that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed within two days to investigate the entire case in two cities.
Fadnavis stated that those who have provided strong evidence in the Majalgaon and Beed incidents have been arrested.


So far, 278 accused have been arrested. Out of these 30 accused, three are innkeepers. Major crimes have been filed against them. Still, 40 criminals are absconding in the Majalgaon case and 61 in the Beed case.
Efforts are underway to arrest the accused, whose mobile location and WhatsApp messages have been checked. The police also have strong evidence against the absconding accused, Fadnavis added.
He also said that the government is taking all these matters seriously.
