Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 9 – (UNI) The digitally restored and remastered version of Vasthuhara (1991) will be screened at IFFK on Saturday at the New Screen 3, under the Restored Classics section.
It was director G. Aravindan’s last feature before his untimely death three months before the premiere. Based on the lives of partition refugees in West Bengal and East Pakistan, it stars Mohanlal, Shobana, and Neena Gupta.
The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam and three Kerala State Film Awards for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Story.
