Delhi Man Shares Inspirational Story of Zomato Delivery Worker Shiva Sarkar’s Struggles and Strength
A man from Delhi, Himanshu Bohra, was deeply moved after meeting a young Zomato delivery worker named Shiva Sarkar. In a LinkedIn post titled “The Story of Shiva Sarkar,” Bohra shared how he ordered food late at night after finishing his work at 3 AM. When the doorbell rang, he found Shiva standing outside, smiling despite the cold weather. But there was something in his eyes that made Bohra realize there was more to his story.
Bohra invited Shiva inside, offered him water, and asked about his life. That’s when Shiva opened up about his struggles. After his father’s death, Shiva had to leave school in eighth grade and start working to support his family. Now, he works hard to save money for his younger sister’s wedding.
Bohra was inspired by Shiva’s strength and determination. He reflected on how many young people, like Shiva, are putting aside their dreams and education to support their families.
In his post, Bohra also made a suggestion to Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, asking if the company could do more to help delivery workers like Shiva. He proposed ideas like upskilling programs, scholarships, or accessible loans to support these hardworking individuals. Bohra’s post went viral, and Zomato quickly responded, saying they were proud of their delivery staff and asked for the order ID to recognize Shiva’s dedication.
