
New Delhi, Oct 21: – The Congress Party has unveiled its initial list of 33 candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly election scheduled for November 25. According to party General Secretary KC Venugopal, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will be contesting from Sardarpura, while Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and Assembly Speaker CP Joshi will seek re-election from Tonk and Nathdwara constituencies, respectively.
The list features nine women candidates, including Rita Choudhary from Mandwa, Krishna Punia from Sadulpur, Dr. Archana Sharma from Malviya Nagar, Mamta Bhupesh from Sikrai (SC), Manju Devi from Jayal SC, and Divya Maderna from Osian.
Other notable candidates include Manisha Pawar from Jodhpur, Preeti Gajendra Singh Shaktawat from Vallabhnagar, and Ramila Khadiya from Kushalgarh (Scheduled Tribe seat).
Congress aims to retain power in the state, and the gazette notification for the election will be issued on October 30. The last date for filing nominations is November 6, with scrutiny scheduled for November 7 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature on November 9. Vote counting is set for December 3, coinciding with elections in Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.”
